2.1 Clean Technique

Clean technique is used for non-invasive procedures and must not be used for surgical procedures in OMS.

Use clean technique if staff or objects will touch intact skin, and intact mucous membranes

Clean technique refers to the use of routine hand washing, hand drying and use of non-sterile gloves

Clean technique is appropriate for:

examining patient
 obtaining vital signs
 taking radiographs
 taking impressions

 suture removal
